Where is Bees Sauna located?
Bees Sauna is permanently based at Broughty Ferry Castle in Dundee, right beside Broughty Ferry Beach. Look out for our banners and the Swedish wood-fired sauna tucked in next to the old barracks.

Do I need a ticket to access Bees Sauna?
Yes — all sessions must be booked online, but they can be booked on the day.

What type of sauna is it?
Bees Sauna is a traditional Swedish wood-fired sauna, designed to give a naturally hot, atmospheric experience in the outdoors. Expect heat, steam, nature and total relaxation.

How many people can the sauna hold?
Social sessions: up to 9 people
Private sessions: up to 10 people

What should I bring?
Please bring:
-Two towels - a towel to sit on and a towel to dry yourself off (hire available for £2)
-Swimwear
-A bottle of drinking water (we have a water station. Please help us cut down our waste by bringing a water bottle with you)
-Flip-flops/Crocs/Sliders or easy footwear
-Warm layers for afterwards
-Phones are welcome — just be mindful of others when taking photos -
How long is a session?
Sessions last 55 minutes, with a 5-minute changeover for cleaning, drying and fire maintenance.

What are the health & safety rules?
-Sit on a towel at all times
-Don’t touch the stove or add logs — the host will manage the fire
-Use the egg timer — no more than 15 minutes inside at once
-Hydrate regularly (water station provided)
-Essential oils: add 2 drops in the ladle only
-If you feel unwell, leave the sauna immediately
-Full safety guidelines are given onsite and in your waiver. -
Can under-16s use the sauna?
No, unfortunately Bees Sauna is strictly 16+. Proof of age may be requested.

Do you offer private hire?
Yes! You can book the whole sauna for up to 10 people.

Do you offer community or specialist sessions?
Yes, Bees Sauna aims to be one of the most accessible saunas in Scotland.

Is there water, toilets and changing facilities?
Yes and no
-A water station is provided outside the sauna
-Public toilets are located at Braw Tea Café nearby
-We don’t have a changing facility but we do have a screen and a chest to keep your belongings dry -
Can I cancel or reschedule my booking?
Yes. You can reschedule up to 48 hours before your session.

Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes! You can buy digital sauna gift vouchers for any of our sessions, perfect for birthdays, Christmas, and wild swimmers.

Is there parking?
There is free parking on-site on Castle Approach and there are other free car parks nearby. Use Bees Sauna in your navigation

What happens in bad weather?
Bees Sauna runs in most conditions, but not during high winds. If winds exceed safe limits, your session will be rescheduled or refunded.
