Autumn Day Retreat: Sauna, Whittling & Foraging
Sunday 27th September 9:45 - 3pm
As the season shifts, change your pace and join us for a full-day retreat designed to help you slow down, learn forgotten skills, and get comfortably wild. This wholesome day brings together the deep relaxation of wood-fired heat, the quiet focus of woodcarving, and the rich textures of wild food.
Come on your own or with a friend; you'll find a safe, welcoming space to connect with nature and your own creativity.
The Day’s Flow
9:45am – 10:00am | Meet & Greet
Arrive at the beach, settle in with a warm drink, and enjoy a gentle welcome chat to ground us for the day ahead.
10:00am – 11:00am | Wood-Fired Sauna Session
We begin in the heat. Let the sauna relax your muscles, calm your mind, and melt away the outside world, leaving you feeling grounded and inspired.
11:00am – 1:00pm | Whittling Session with Woodswoman
Join Kiri for a relaxed whittling workshop where you'll learn how to carve your own mushroom ornament, keyring, or a pair of silver birch earrings. Whittling is a simple, enjoyable skill that's easy to pick up. Focusing on carving helps quiet a busy mind, giving you the chance to switch off from everyday life while making something with your own hands. No experience is needed, and all tools and materials are provided.
1:00pm – 2:00pm | Forage-Themed Lunch by the Feral Forager
Gather around for a nourishing, forage-inspired lunch featuring fresh, seasonal flavours to keep us warm and fueled.
2:00pm – 3:00pm | Foraging Presentation: Walk & Talk
Enjoy an afternoon introduction workshop with Feral Forager Scotland. We'll explore the shoreline and local area, learning how to identify edible and medicinal plants, trees, and mushrooms, as well as the traditional methods used to store and preserve them.
